Cooking Time 12 mins

Ingredients

500g Scotty Brand Chippy Chips
1 tbsp smoked paprika
1 tbsp dried parsley
2 tsp cayenne pepper
2 tsp salt
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp icing sugar
1 tsp ground black pepper

METHOD

  1. Preheat the air fryer for 5 minutes at 200oC whilst you get everything else ready.

  2. Make the spice rub by adding all of the spices and seasoning into a large bowl and mixing so that it's well combined. You can also store the spice rub in a clean, dry, container. It'll keep for 3 months like that.

  3. Add the frozen chips to the basket and make sure they're evenly layered. If using an oven - just follow the cooking instructions on the back of pack!

  4. Set the air fryer to 12mins at 200oC. Place the basket in it's slot and press go.

  5. Just like cooking in a deep fat fryer, you don't want to overcrowd the basket. Not all air fryers are the same so keep an eye on your chips and if they need 1-2 minutes longer carry on cooking. If you're cooking more than 500g of chips they'll take longer to cook too. 750G is probably the max you could cook for an average sized air fryer.

  6. Half-way through cooking (5-6 mins) give the chips a quick shake/shoogle. This ensures even cooking.

  7. When the chips are done, throw them in a large bowl and toss them in 1tbsp of your homemade BBQ chip spice. (You can add more or less to suit your preference).

  8. Serve while hot and enjoy!
